| Our History The Relph family has been farming in Cumbria for many generations. Richard and John Relph, the current owners of the company, were brought up on a beautiful hill farm in Martindale beside Ullswater where their father T.W. Relph (known as Willy) kept sheep and suckler cows until his early retirement from farming in 1971. From 1971 he started to develop the early stages of the agricultural merchants business of today. Starting with a seed agency, he soon moved into animal health and some farm equipment. When Richard and John left University in the late 1970's, the business was able to move forward with the construction of the first large building on the site, and taking on new staff. Since then, the business has grown organically with more land being purchased to allow for more building work, extra yard space and parking areas. |
